BBC News is at the heart of teh BBC's output. It is responible for newsgathering and the production of national daily, business and political news and current affairs programmes for BBC Television, Radio and Online.

What is the news clip service?

This is a daily news clip service streamed directly to you. Our editorial team select clips as the news happens. You will receive on average 30 per day, each up to 3 minutes long. Clips are sourced from the folling genres:

  • World News
  • World Business News
  • Entertainment
  • Science / Nature
  • Technology
  • Health
  • Politics
  • Education

The news clips are relevant to the online market and rights cleared for online, mobile phones and in-flight distribution. Every clip is provided with a text file that includes the headline and a short summary of the clip, plus a specification of the genre. Each clip is sent as a raw audio video file and in your desired file format. Delivery is made over internet protocol on a file by file basis. Each clip has a 7 day license and will be deleted automatically after 7 days.

How can I display the news clips?

You can choose to display the clips on your on-board entertainment systems.

- News clips must be BBC News branded. Branding will be provided.
